According to the committee of British Open's latest statistics, about two billion audiences will come to St. George's royal to appreciate the British Open this year. "The income of British Open comes from 3 aspects: TV broadcast, sponsors and tickets. Among that, we have signed contracts with some famous tevevisions in the U.S. Japan, Europe, etc. About 165 countryies can access to TV broadcast, the earnings through sponsors, such as Rolex, Benz， HSBC and Nikon, are one part of the income. In addition, tickets are another substantial income. Apart from the overheads of the game, half of the earning will be invest in promoting the development of golf in the world." Michael Tate, the Vice- Secretary General of R&A, said.
During the broadcast, Michael Tate's mainly duties involved dealing with press and sponsors. According to Tate, since July last year, relevant preparations have been making, and the phase-out working preparations started from spring this year.
