GHD scam online...

An survey conducted by the consumer watchdog group, Trading Standards, revealed that another overseas scam involving the popular GHD hair straighteners.

One Trading Standards officer said: "Counterfeiters did not invested into research and development or care about complying with safety regulations. They set up production lines in temporary buildings, most often in developing countries these days, particularly in China."

A recent investigation was carried out by Trading Standards officers. As part of the investigation officers, the Newport city council-based Wales Scambuster team purchased two sets of GHD hair irons that were advertised as GHD from different websites which were based in China. Upon receipt, it was found that both sets, which cost around sixty pounds, were counterfeit. They were also found potentially dangerous due to its non-compliance with health and proper safety standards.

She added: "They are concerned to make their counterfeits look like the real thing, and then make them worth selling, either to people who are innocently after a bargain, or those consumers who deliberately choose to buy those fake goods. Anyway, there is a high price to pay, as counterfeits create a serious threat to your safe."

GHD hair straighteners are the most popular straightening iron brands in the world, and therefore, they are more expensive compared with some other makes and models, many people are prepared to pay the money in order to get their hands on these irons.

However, the popularity of these GHDs has led to a massive counterfeit GHD hair straightener in the market, and many people that purchase these fake products thinking that they are getting a great deal on the real thing are actually buying fake irons that are not only nothing to do with GHD but are also potentially dangerous because they do not adhere to standards.
